Which i found baffling considering i was looking at the e93 335i....
I had better service from a 21y.o. guy at Audi.... (yes i am trying not to buy the new tt 3.2, but finding it a very hard battle)

Yep one bad person can tarnish the reputation of the whole company, yes it can happen anywhere, but when your spending 100K plus you do expect quite a bit.

The last straw for me at Doncaster BMW was the salesperson leaving us standing around in the dealership while he took the car for another quick spin to test for a fault that developed while we were going for a testdrive.

Looking forward to going back in there in March when I have my new baby, pretend I am still looking for one, and ask him to value my used car for a tradein I will walk out with him and then just drive off once he goes "Ummm"

Chris.G: Suggestion, that you update the first page and put all the dealers in the first post as a current blacklist.

I will go through all the posts and make a list for you to copy and past into the first post if you want!

I think I will do the following setup
Dealer Name
Date of Incident
Brief Reasons for addition to the blacklist

EG:

BMW Doncaster
October 2007
Disgusting Customer Service, not caring about a sale. Arrogant, don't care attitude from the Sales Manager

Thoughts ?

i test drove a black 3.2 cabrio and loved it! 0-100 in 5.9s, it sounded & handled like a dream too.
The only thing offputting is the depreciation on them....

It's funny you say that, i had exactly the same problem with BMW melbourne on Kings way, nobody even looked twice at me or offered assistance, so i walked out on them. Only to goto BMW Doncaster where i was treated very well and i couldn't speak highly enough of the staff that helped me, i literally had a minimum of 2 people assisting me any one time, enough said that is where i purchased my current car from.
Just to rub salt in, last time i was in melbourne i drove into BMW melbourne, where they took me much more seriously and i took a nice new 335i out for a good run.

Actually, I don't think there would be much difference in depreciation between a TT and a 335 coupe / vert. The Audi certainly is a bit more exclusive on the road. I noticed in Melbournes saturday morning paper that there were 2 privatly listed 335's for sale. One vert with 6000ks and a coupe with delivery klm only. The coupe was asking $99,500.

Saw an S5 at an Audi dealer a couple of weeks ago. Looked good however I think the BMW coupe style looks better (IMO). However a TT has always looked sexy.

Yeah i don't mind the S5, but it isn't really an inspiring car, that said i think the RS5 will be something to behold.
I never liked the old tt as it was a bit too round and looked a bit like a squashed vw beetle, this new one however has really impressed me.

no, mutton dressed as lamb in terms of a car is probably an mx5... old people drive them, yet they think they are young

I agree with you, Audi TT's have never done it for me. The new one seems like a better car than the old one. But with the higher end models for the money theres heaps of better kit around. IMO of course.

i guess sometimes its more the person and not the stealership. I remember i was in Doncaster BMW in 1999 when the New E46 just came out.

Went for a test drive. The tet car they gave me has 25kms on it. The sales person was prepared to let me have a go at the car on my own. I didn't want to crash it without him on board... so got him to come along.

The test drive rout i took cannot bring out the characteristic oof the car.. according to him, so he took me to this part where the large carpark was full of gravels... and ask me to do some hard cornering at close to 90km/h...

my balls dropped.. but i was impress... and that was then, i told myself, I need a BMW.... at some point of my life....

Alto

I was at Alto today, needed to get some of their recent paintwork looked at (sadly the car needs to go back so they can do it right).

Anyway the panel shop manager said that end of this month BMW was gone. Audi is the new brand and will be represented at both Artarmon & Pennant Hills.

He thinks (was not able to confirm) that the empty but finished building near the pedestrian overpass was most likely the new location for BMW on the north side.

On a side note I might be able to get a good deal on a Piano Black trim set for the car (to replace the brushed alum).

My wife was at Alto Pennants Hills today too. The last "BMW day" is December 21. She was told there will be some VERY keen deals on remaining stock.

Many of the BMW trained staff are going.

Cheers.
