Coupe - be careful with the seatbelt handover............

The seatbelt handover (drivers side) wasn't working on my new M3 when we bought it- but the garage said they'd sort it(free).............. which they have this morning

But.........The new part is £186 + VAT + Fitting if you're not mechanically minded!

You've been warned!

Never mind the seatbelt - what about the exhaust!

I haven't got the handover now I've got the e93, although I keep waiting for it

the exhaust is from an M3Cutters member who is in process of having it removed from his car and then will send it up...........

as said previously it was £950 fitte dthe day after
OR £400 and a small wait.

so £550 bought my patience!

ive not read too much about this failing left right and centre which puts my mind at ease somewhat. you wouldnt have thought a gimmicky bit of plastic would cost so much to sort out though

I've just scooped one up off ebay for £10

The only problem with mine, a small piece of metal that retains one end of one of the springs sheared off .... sometimes it would catch the seat belt and other it would slip past .... annoying, but for a tenner i'm happy to get it fixed

that what was was wrong with mine............... little metal cast bit had broken off

But i'd hardly call it a "scoop" - buying a broken one - that doesn't actually make it do what its supposed to.................

Its like saying Michelin Pilot Sports are £300 each - but i've just scooped one on ebay with 1.6mm of tread left for £10..............

I think i haven't made it clear, the problem was with my existing seat belt hander - the £10 from ebay is 100% perfect working order

I've literally just come in from fitting it - best £10 bargain from ebay yet !

I don't know, but if in a couple of hours of me saying that the little metal cast bit has snapped - someone else saying theres has too.......... more than a co-incidence

and the garage who i bought the car from and had to replace mine at a cost of £186+VAT................... they said the local dealer parts section said its a common fault............ and they sell LOADS of replacement arms.........

sorry.......... i read it as you buying one from ebay that had the bit snapped off..................

But anyway, if they are SO expensive new and a common fault - surely it would go for more than a tenner???

Broke mine a few months ago also, my fault though. It came forwards and i think i bumped it with my arm turning round to grab belt or something, but hasn't worked right since, goes in and out no bother, but chrome part on end doesn't retract properly on way back in. Removed arm to find small plastic pin halfway down snapped off inside rear panel, £216 all in from local STEALERS , No way I'm paying that for a 12" plastic arm, I'll keep hunting ebay and breakers or try making the small part @ work.

Mine has broken too (drivers) - im gutted!

Really dont want to spend £220! little bit of metal seems to have broken off.

The arm extends and retracts fine but doesent lock open to grab the belt so the belt just slips off it!

cant find any on ebay either!

Mine was replaced under warranty - if that's the same as warrenty then you'll be fine
