Does the car feel any different when compared to before? Is it smoother and more powerful? Did you just do the cleaning because everyone else on the forums is doing it, or did you have a specific reason for it?

I scoped my ports and took some pictures. Even after 70,000 miles of hard driving they looked pretty clean. Just a little suit on them that would wash off with some gentle rubbing.

It makes a HUGE difference in smoothness and throttle response.
Chad was doing some maintenance work in there and said I might as well do it while they had everything removed. Well worth it. |

I just had it done last weekend. Idle is definitely smoother and the throttle response is a little better. Not night and day but I'm glad I did it.

No I got it done at Autocouture Motoring in Fair lawn NJ. They did it for $400 + tax. With that said BMW of Roxbury does it for $500 I believe, which isn't bad at all for a dealer. Also I have no warranty. It doesn't matter though, intake valve cleaning isn't covered under warranty.

They were never cleaned before. I forgot to ask the guys to take before and after pics but one said but one of the guys took a peak inside as it was getting done and told me they were pretty dirty. All that matters to me is the rough is gone and its a bit more responsive.
