Adding USB to LCI E92
Hi guys, the one feature I really miss from my E82 is the USB facility.
I have been doing some reading on this and it seems that the LCI pro head unit has Bluetooth and USB functionality built in. My car has BT but no USB under the arm rest... I've checked under the boot carpets and there is no MULF module so I think this points to the fact that I have the correct head unit and from my research I think I just need to add the USB port and route the cable through the centre consol plus a bit of re-coding for the h/u. The info I have found came from this thread And I think I need to buy the following: 84109237653 USB-Aux Socket 61119129360 Coaxial fakra wire for USB So, if I'm right then I just need to find someone capable of doing the coding for me... Has anyone done this or got experience of it? Any help and feedback is gratefully received

You'll need to remove the HU & see if its got the white input connection... if so, you can add USB with some coding, a USB cable & socket!
Anyone interested.... I have a BT / USB Professional Radio for sale (& it doesn't need coding)! |

Thanks Jammy, I guess I'll have to pop it out and look at the back then.
I was hoping that as I have BT and no MULF this would guarantee the facility to add USB... Right off to eBay for some trim removal tools |

If you haven't got a M/ULF in the boot but have BT, then I'm pretty certain it'll have USB - you just need to code & get the cable etc...

If you have Bluetooth then there should be a module it the boot which may be a MULF, Mulf2 or a ULF - there may be others. This will depend on year and what options you have.
What ever module you have will be under the boot floor behind the rear seats. The bad news is that it is much harder/more expensive to add USB with this set up. If that's what you're after, you'd be best off reading this thread and change your head unit to the later Pro type with Bluetooth and USB facility built in. I'm planning to buy the USB port and lead at the end of the month and should just need to get the head unit coded once they're in.
