We just released our V810 as well, which is a nice new option for those seeking lighter weight wheels.

I went through this process last year and finally settled on Apex EC7. Decent looks, light weight for 18s, rotary forged, many choices of width, offset, and finishes. Decent pricing. I was axed for a square 9 width setup and Apex was the natural choice.
Enkei is another low price possibility, thought about their Raijin wheel. Weighs and costs a little less than EC7 but fewer choices in offsets and widths. The 8.5 fronts are not concave and do not look that great. Forgestar seems like a great choice, especially if you're interested in 19s. The VMR rotary forged weren't around at the time, might be worth a look. TSW is another brand with rotary forged wheels, once again, size limitations. There are others, on Tirerack, but was never tempted due to looks, size limitations or concerns about strength. Other choices are big money.....BBS, Volk, Advan. Out of my league pricewise, but good quality I'm sure. Finally, beware of weight claims on genuine BMW wheels, unless backed up by a vendor. Sites like bmwfans and others that show weights for wheels are often wrong. bmwfans showed my 161s in the low 20s, they actually weigh around 31.5 |
