Don't forget how it applies the brake for you on hills too. The only problem with owning a manual is the fact that driving an automatic is so boring for the rest of your life. Traffic is worth the joy of rowing through the gears on a merge.

If you require an MT to be alert when driving you probably should not be driving at all.

Well a couple months ago there was a forum on here where a guy who had a MT, accidentally shifted to 4th gear instead of 6th, and did $12,000 worth of damage to the car. That can fit into the con section I believe, as I've never heard somebody having a $12k repair bill for improper shifting with an AT.

Actually it is depending on what year you look at. I know a 2006 e90 manual gets 2-3 mpg hwy more then its auto counterpart.

Pros: fun to drive, tranny lasts forever, very cheap to fix 200k down the road (probably a slave or master and ours are a little different but cheap)
Cons: none |

Go with MT man.
I learned a couple years back and that made my driving experience so much better. A stick can make any boring car much more fun. The pros definitely outweigh the cons. In my opinion the only con is traffic but like a previous poster said, it's worth it when you're racing through gears. Automatics are boring

Not a bad thing if they're carjackers, wives or your teenage kids!

if you have half a brain in a week ull have it down, and if u thin about what ur supposed to be doing u wont hurt the car. stalling it isnt to hard on the car, slipping the clutch and dropping the clutch will mean ur clutch needs replacement sooner, these cars have clutch delay valves to prevent u from doing any real damage to anything other than the clutch........
go for it, ull love every minute of driving stick

I doubt this will happen in the beginning. He probably won't be driving with high rpms and by the time he downshifts his engine would be practically idling.

You would almost have to try to get it from 5th to 4th. So hard to do. How old are you? I get the feeling you are young, and if you are, definitely get a MT. If you are commuting to work in LA traffic, like me, its not worth it. There is nothing boring about an auto 335

You have to be mentally retarted to drive like that. Good video though, made me laugh and cry at the same time.
