BMS Filter Review **with video**

Well, I got the BMS filter this Monday and wanted to wait until I got it installed, and run on for a bit to give a legitimate review of what I thought.

Let's start with the installation. I took me 15 minutes and literally was a piece of cake for any novice. I would suggest removing the cowl about where the former filter was to give you more access to the clamp bolt on the rear intake stock hose location. My second suggestion, would be to pull up on the diverter hoses to allow the front part of the intake piping to seat well into the stock hose location. Other than this, fitament was great.

Next, I was off to drive the car. Idle is normal. Then I pulled out to drive it a bit. Well, I was a bit un-impressed for the 4 runs I did that night. I figured the ecu had to adapt to so that more fuel could take advantage of the increased air and reset the STFT's. So, I gave this 4 days to really get my feel of what I thought before I posted. I can definitely say the BMS filter does give the posted dyno results that Terry claims. The car pulls much fuller through the high rpms. The boost onset is very fast. I am running on 275x30 Good Year Eagle F1 GS-D3 and the tires break fast. Bottom line, the power is clearly there, but as a tip remember to give it a couple of days to adapt.

Finally, the sounds will be huge for many of us. The turbo sounds are now clearly audible for everyone to hear. If you have heard the big single turbos have that wistle sound, well we have it now. When the diverter valves open, it almost sounds like a BOV now. It is simply put the way the car should have sounded when we bought it. Every single person that has heard it is just as addicted to it as I am. On idle it sounds like stock. Revs above 4k can clearly hear the whistle of the turbos now. On normal drive, it sounds identical. On hard acceleration, the whistle is instaneous and sounds incredible.

I have run the car in a variety of conditions where I live and for a good length of time.I have found no heat soak or power performance fall off whatsoever. DO NOT LET THIS TURN INTO AN ARGUMENT HERE. This is my observation.

I have to say for power, sound, and value combo there is no way anything can touch the BMS Filter in my opinion.

I knew sound clips would be critical, so here you go. Please keep in mind these are compressed by youtube. If someone will host the full video, you could get a much better sense of the sound.

I can do that too, but you guys have to remember the ait the turbo will pull is maxed once that wastegate opens. Therefore, the intake sounds are strong on lower rpms when you hit the throttle and the exhaust sounds will take over on the higher rpm pulls. I can shoot that video if you want, but you will hear my exhaust and not the intake anymore.

That is with the JB2H on the car. Those are the only two performance mods I have right now. The car just pulls like a giant through all gears.

I have the BMS filter as well and really like it as well. The sound is very good. I can't say that I noticed any significant butt dyno increase since it is small compared to the total already on the car but I believe the dynos and do feel like partial throttle is a bit snapier.
