I'm not necessarily Tiff's greatest fan but he certainly knows how to drive. Should be good. And is it just me or is Fifth Gear emerging as the true petrolhead's motoring programme of choice? Not a great choice admittedly, but Top Gear does seem to be becoming a bit of an indulgence for its presenters rather than being primarily about the cars. Its current formula was great when it started but it's gone too far now IMHO ('the car's the star' is how they should think about it). |

AS long as that hairy geezer (who always seems to be put down by wotsername) doesn't test drive it then I can't wait to watch. The less that guy does the better !

Unfortunately I can't get Channel 5 but Fifth Gear is always available on bittorrent the next day anyway - so will download it from there.

Just set freeview to record it but it doesn't mention the M3 on the program guide info?

"Top Gear revs back into action for a new series. In the opening episode, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May revisit their attempt to build amphibious cars and face up to one of their biggest – and choppiest – challenges to date. The Audi R8 attacks the Top Gear track and Dame Helen Mirren is the Star In A Reasonably Priced Car." |

Fifth gear recorded for tonight! Here is the programme review:
http://fifthgear.five.tv/jsp/5gmain....ption=BMW%20M3 I have seen that red M3 before (same Y plate), cover of EVO I think, and maybe a few other mags. That is definately not an AUC M3 to buy in the future! |

Have to say that Tiff really demonstrated the benefit of having a limited slip diff on the M3... and much as I don't like his presenting style, he reall does know how to drive a car

Maybe the stories of slightly numb steering from the M3 where from journalists who hadn't found the full menu option for the M button

The 'Ford Effect' is the programme's only downside really IMO. Top Gear is still a laugh but you rarely get an honest review of a car without the presenters trying to use the review segment to make themselves look good; surely the car is more important? And I understand the (actually pretty reasoned) logic behind Clarkson's anti-environmentalist rants but it's just not the best way of going about it in the current climate |
