Eventual goal of 12s using the best bang for the buck mods and then just drive it that way until a turbo kit that will support 1000+ cfm comes out. I'm hoping Forced Performance will come out with something like dual TD04 16gs that will bolt on, or a good single kit within a few years.
Welcome. Lots of bang for the $ available in the N54 world now and many more bigger power options appear to be on the horizon, but any big singles are likely not to be low total cost for a while (when factoring install + supporting mods needed)

Yeah, I've been following N54s since 07 when a friend took European delivery of one of the first ones. I'm glad that at least somebody is selling upgrades to the stock turbos now, even though that's not really what I'm looking for. I expect to drive on stock turbos for 3-4 years before something I really want comes along. I intentionally bought a 6MT just to deal with the lag I someday expect to have. I just hope there's a good fuel solution by then. For now something like a Procede and an IC and meth should get me by :-).

no brainer, are you tuned?
JB4 + DCI. I might dump in some race gas and run map 7, or just stay on map 1 with 91 octane, or get some DP's and FMIC and run map 2. Meth is on the mind too. The xi with auto should be good for roughly 14 stock with a good launch I'm guessing from the other posts in this thread.

You need to get rid of the JB3 and go Cobb. The difference at altitude is startling.

I kind of doubt switching to cobb will resolve the problems my car has been having though. Plus, what am I gonna do with the jb3? hang it on the wall?

You could always sell it. Or maybe upgrade to JB4? The latest JB4 firmware is pretty solid at altitude. I don't know how it compares to cobb, but I can tell you that I've not had any problems with it yet, and it hits hard - maybe that will change when the summer heat comes into play, but I digress.

Do you just need some plugs, new injectors, or some walnut shelling of the intake valves Alfred?

I've been considering to upgrade to jb4, but I really don't want to have to deal with having to do the settings, etc.

My guess is that my car has bad injectors, coilpacks, or plugs. I'm gonna start working on it in the summer.

Start with plugs, and go from there. From the posts on this forum, 9 times out of 10 plugs are the cause of misfires, the N54 is very sensitive to fouled plugs.

I ordered some plugs in December. When I went to the dealer to pick them up, I was told I was crazy for changing the plugs since I got them done about 15,000 miles ago. I was told not to buy...

I think I'm gonna get them though

Good advice here, you can also pickup the plugs online for<$80 a set.
