Hood damage thoughts???

Do you guys think this will be fixed easy? I dont want to wait for my appointment to find out. Could it be banged out or maybe suctioned, I dont know. What are your thoughts??

There is no paint damage at all.

I would say at first glance, dry ice dent removal. But then after seeing the grill line looking dented in , real body work or just replacement. If you are anal, replace. If you are short on cash, just do dry ice method.

Try this set up...it will include the Glue gun in the puller..You can also search on there for different size plugs for your puller even though some come with the kit, you might need bigger plugs for your dent.

I'd look into a local ding & dent repair service in your area. They can usually get these out for a reasonable fee. Sure would be cheaper than a replacement, or trying it yourself and maybe having to have it replaced after all!

just see if there is a company like this in your area

http://www.johnnydents.com/?gclid=CP...FcqZ4Aod9HwA6Q

They charge like $80 so simple dents. Also I would not recommend doing it yourself unless you have some experience and knowledge. If you do it wrong it could be worse and then the profession will have hard time fixing it.

+ 1 if you have this laying around try it. Just turn the duster upside down spray then use a heat gun to heat it up fast. It could pop out depending on the dent.

Most dents require more work to get to it from behind. Since its on your hood your have exposure to the back of the hood. Have you tried hitting the back of the dent with a rubber mallet... that could pop that dent out. I actually did this on a previous car that got a dent from a falling pine cone lol. Although my dent was more in the middle of the hood. As for the line not matching the grill its because the dent, its pulling the hood in once that dent is back that noticeable line should be gone.

If that doesn't work, call up a paintless dent repair company.

just look up your local PDR specialist (Paintless Dent Removal). Those guys can do amazing things, and that dent definitely looks like it can be done easily with PDR.

I had the wrong angle to show you guys how the very end of or the frame of the hood is also damaged (right below the grill) but ya I am screwed, its going to be a new hood basically. I talked to a buddy he has a guy that is a VERY good PDR guy so he is going to look at it and give it a shot.

I will post some before and afters :-/

Their best PDR came by and looked at it. He said its not possible to get the dent out and make it look decent due to its location. He banged out the frame/outline of the hood and made that look nice now I am screwed with a nice dent.

Thats surprising, that seems like the picture perfect dent for dent removal, the kind of dent they show in commercials.

Thats what I was thinking, I know the dent was behind a ton of metal you couldnt even see it on the other side then he went into technical terms why he didnt want to try it. Least I have a straight hood by my grill I guess.

Call another company or location. I've seen dent less paint removal companies remove dents way worse than this on youtube.

Take a look at the amazing work done from this dent! (link below) Your hood can be fixed your sales rep just didnt want to do the job apparently. I hope you didnt pay him for coming out.

Thats a total different location though along with it being solid metal. Thats a good idea though I will go somewhere else for another try.

I agree, there are lots more videos all over youtube even ones of hoods getting repairs. That video was just an example of how a huge dent can still get fixed. Its always good to get a second opinion lol.
