New AC Schnitzer gear knob for all BMWs and Minis
BIMMERPOST NEWS New AC Schnitzer gear knob for all BMWs and Minis Ok, you guys be the judge on this one. This is a new "performance" knob from ACS which introduces the concept of a large red lighted number to tell you which gear you are in. ACS claims that as of now, determining which gear you are in is based off of feel; but with this new knob you get a visual display and its "cool". On the positive side it should be very simple to install and fits all BMWs and Minis. Well, definitly not my cup of tea, but you guys be the judge! |

the iDrive knob that looks like the ACS rims is horrible, i like the rims themselves but bringing the theme into the car is not the best move by ACS. The shift knob is kinda cool tho, it'd look cool at night.

Looks retarded IMHO, kinda like those old school Casio watches that beeps, and tells you the time vocally.... Yeah useless, unless you were deaf.. but in this case..... nvm there is no exception for a knob to tell you what gear your in... fail.

There has been some aftermarket knob like this out for ricer honda's for awhile...
Doesn't belong in a BMW IMO. If you cant "feel" or know what gear you in, you don't need to be driving a stick. I ALWAYS know what gear I'm in. It's like I have a gear indicator in my brain...

It's actually a rebadged indycator made by Gaslock, we saw these at SEMA a couple of years back. Shift positions are based off an integrated accelerometer into the knob.

this is of course my personal opinion, but ACS is way tacky. they made one good rim design in 90s that was great on E36 and E39s - everything else they make design wise is garbage IMHO. no longer they aren't officially selling with BMW in UK anymore. on topic: this knob looks very cheap.
