Yeah how you showed it there would make it confusing.

So I will explain.

On the road where the racing happens there was no police and on the letter it says I was on that road.

To get the chippy I was going to I have to go pass the road where racing happens and then turn on other where you cant race and that's where the marked BMW police car was.

If you look at the post it does say there, the police officer wasn't on the road where the racing happens, he was on other road

Does this answer Your question

I'm a bit confused too. We're you with the guys that were racing?

Just because you did not see police there, doesn't mean they weren't looking. If an area becomes notorious for racing then don't be surprised if a pre planned op gets put in to target those putting people at risk.

To be fair to you, I'd not say anything else about the matter until-
A) You know if a prosecution will be mounted or not. And
B) You have sought legal advice.

This all sounds like a bit of a party, Is it like the Fast and Furious films? where there are crowds everywhere, and people "race for pinks"............? And afterwards no one goes for a burito, instead they opt for a fish and chips? and a can of ginger beer?

Mate it does seem pretty clear that you was there to either participate or watch the street racing and not for food,
because you did not mention the chippy at all until last night.
If I was you id be very careful with how you proceed with this because if you tell any lies you will more than likely get caught.
If you know you've done wrong then hold your hands up but if you most defiantly did not do anything then fight it.

I think you were racing, why else are you so keen to see your lawyer before you even have details of the offence. all they have asked so far is to know who was driving.

Hmmm.

Let's not 100% condemn the op here. Almost all of us will have labored the desire to 'spank' some tosser in a Corsa.

Questions here for me are more like...

Is he lying?
If so why?
Was he attending the meet to race and behave like a deplorable twat?
Was he passing for any reason (chips, mates chips, massage, whatever) and happened to decide to 'spank' a tosser?
If so, has he lied just to make the story that he was 'just passing' seem more plausible?

Etc

Matt

I didn't not see the need to tell every one where I was going. But they gave out 528 letters in the past 2 weeks. I have been there to watch before but not in my car but this time i really did go to the chippy. Plus they don't want to show the CCTV footage, so that is saying something

I'd just return the form and if anything else arises from it then get some legal advice. Most solicitors will offer a free 30 minute consultation to asses whether you have a case worth pursuing or not so that should at least help if needed. It won't be cheap if you do take a solicitor on after that but if you're innocent then it's worth doing. I was late in returning a speeding letter many years ago as they cocked up the postcode, they did chase it up so it's best just to play ball at this point I'd say.
Best of luck
