that's true only if you know if the person is Indian, but if you call an Indian, Paki or vice versa, then it's like war

just curious if there was a politically correct way of referring to "brown people"

Actually, I dunno if anyone else noticed this, but about 99.9% of the "post a picture alongside your name thread" posters were Asian...I just found that interesting.

Hi,

The term "Paki" will likely earn you a punch in the face. Not appropriate at all. There is really no generic term for referring to Indian people. It gets confusing because the term "Indian" is still used south of the border in reference to American Indians who we tend to call "First Nations" in Canada. The term Indo-Canadian is used here but that is problematic as hyphenated names are not ideal imo.

Even amongs "Indians", there are so many different communities that its like calling someone a "European", its not very specific. South Asian is best.

Or better yet, just call people "people" and be done with it. I only want to be judged on things like my bank account, looks, car, penis size, biceps, clothes, the real important stuff in life...

You sound like an amigo to me

p.s. George Bush used that term in Pakistan, which is hilarious! Brilliant!
