MAF sensor cleaning
I've done some reading on this and I know the MAF is very delicate and expensive. I have never done any type of work on my car, but this weekend I am going to change my air filter. I figured since the MAF will be exposed anyway, I might as well clean it.
My question is, how delicate is the MAF? Can it really be broken that easily? Can anyone provide some tips for removing and cleaning it? |

1. unplug the cable 2. unscrew the screws 3. gently pull out MAF 4. spray it down with MAF cleaner 5. let it dry for a few minutes 6. put MAF back in |

Wow what's with the attitude when you ask for help.
Do exactly what Delta outlined and be very careful not to touch the wire in the MAF sensor, finger prints, oils from your hands will jack that thing up big time and they are expensive like a couple of hundred dollars and the SES light will be thrown and which will need to reset by someone. |

Not you the OP, he already stated he did not intend any so all is good. Frankly if he has to ask those questions he probably should not screw with it as they are sensitive. I've jacked up one before by not being careful and have removed several from several cars over the years. One of my kids is a Ford tech so I can be easily rescued when I screw up. Still costs though.
