noise from dashboard turning right (VIDEO INSIDE)

hello. on my 2008 335xi i noticed an issue. when i am in drive but not moving anywhere and turn the steering wheel to the right i hear a sqeeking ticking type noise coming from what sounds like the center part of dash. not like where the speedo is but where the idrive is. i did some research and i cant seem to fins the issue i am refering to. some people say when they go slow and turn they hear a noise. but i am not moving when i hear the noise. also when people hear a noise they hear it coming from outside the car. this sounds like its coming from inside the car. note this is not that whining type sound when you turn the wheel all the way to either side this is only to the right when i am not moving anywhere. any thoughts? thanks

the Mic sucks on my phone so you can only really hear it at the very end at 32-33 seconds

not to be confused with the sound at like 29 seconds which is just me moving around. at 32-33 seconds if you turn the speakers up you will definitely hear a creaking sound.

Alright, just thought I'd ask because I recently found something similar like yours on my car like when I turn my wheel it'll make a slight faint tap noise. So I dug in deeper this past weekend by jacking up the front end and on jack stands, while up in the air I turned the wheel and sure enough the noise was there and coming from the front left suspension area. Turned out to be the brake line bracket was rubbing against the sway bar end link bar when the wheel is turning. I just lowered my car about 2 weeks ago and I am not too sure how that happened however I just slightly bent the brake line bracket and all the noise is gone now.

You might wanna get it on the air and have someone help you turn the wheel to see if you have the same problem as me. Worth a try!

thanks man. it sounds like its coming more from the middle of the front of the center console though. maybe like the steering column or something?

You are welcome!

Yea, you should try and lift it up to see what's going on underneath there.

Sorry for your trouble man but it is very hard for anybody here to help you diagnose without actually being there.

Did you at least tried jacking up the car and turning the steering wheel?

Tighten the bolt that secures the strut tower braces to the fire wall. There's a slotted cover right above the microfilter housing. It's under there. Also retorque it at the strut towers for good measure.

Strut tower needs replacement....sounds like the noise is coming from the center speaker right?? Just replaced mine after hearing the exact same thing (coming from center of the car in the front) and it turned out to be a front right strut tower...
