What's the deepest sounding cat-back?

Hey folks. I'm new to the N54 world and starting on some mods. So far I've only done cosmetic stuff, but the power modding will begin soon. My car is a CPO so I don't want to do DP's yet, but I figure I can get away with a catback.

I've watched a lot of the Youtube exhaust vids but what I'm mainly interested in is what the car sounds like during part throttle. A guy drove past me the other day in a 335i and his car had a nice bassy sound to it. He had some 4" tips on there, but that's all I could see.

I used to have an '86 GN and it had a really deep exhaust note but when I got on it turned into a chainsaw on steroids. I'm fine with that, but want the daily driving to sound a bit meaner than it does now with the stock pipes. If it screams at WOT, I'm ok. I realize on these cars it's pretty much not a performance mod so I'm open to all suggestions, even a good set of mufflers and tips.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Catless downpipes mated to stock exhaust sounds the best imo.

Catless and AE. I've heard the vanguard exhaust and that sounded pretty crappy. Made the bimmer sound like a Honda. It's your best bet if you want a ton of drone in the cabin and rasp.

Vanguard or HKS.
Both are aggressive with a deep tone.

I'm kinda worried about the whole "what if I have to go to the dealership" thing... Any input?

AMS is deepest I've heard live. Others I'm comparing it to : AE, BMW perf, AA.

Unfortunately i think AMS stop making this exhaust.

The Remus exhaust has exactly the sound I'm looking for. I'm not willing to hack up my rear valence, though.

You can change your rear bumber to the MSport Version and buy an aftermarket quad diffuser (like on the 335is but quad), it will look great. no hacking.

something like this: http://dukedynamics.com/products/e92_diffuser/index.php
