Ok so just got the engine mal alert again 5 minutes ago!

threw a lot of codes but none for the metering valve this time.

004593: Engine/Motor Smoothness regulator cylinder 2 injector correction amount by adjusting the range.

00459c: Engine/Motor Smoothness controller 1 cylinder injection correction amount by adjusting the range.

004b81:Engine/Motor Exhaust gas re-circulation rate control, deviation exhaust gas re-circulation rate control error while Kat heating

004592:Engine/Motor Smoothness regulator cylinder 4 injector correction amount by adjusting the range

003ff1: Air flow meter signal

004c09: Engine/Motor Exhaust Gas Temperature sensor before Particle filter plausibility difference calculates Exhaust gas temperature measured too high

004596: Engine/Motor Smoothness regulator cylinder 2 injector correction amount by adjusting the range.

00459b: Smoothness regulator cylinder 5 Correction Injector amount by adjusting the range.

Air flow meter signal? (I did try to clean the MAF with MAF cleaner a couple days ago)

I am wondering is there a possibility that it may be related to an old/bad PCV and how do I diagnose a bad one if that is the case.

Did you happen to monitor exhaust temps? How many miles before codes? Etc.

I may be way off track here, but I'm beginning to think you have significant blockage in your EGR valve or a bad valve. Perhaps CBU blockage throughout intake system as well.

I'd say you have A CBU issue. Only way to know i to take the air pipe off and look inside the EGR. A quick Google search will show you plenty of pics for comparison

How old is your battery? What is your running voltage?

It isn't a hole just a dimple, Does not look like a defect of any kind up close.

Why do you think boost leak?

I will check tomorrow on voltage. Battery is less than a year old.

That clip was so loose that the connection between the hose and the throttle body had to be letting stuff out

My guess was right, you had a boost leak at the TB connection. But that is besides the point. The way your TB and EGR look we can only assume that everything downstream is worse. Three nasty letters CBU is your problem and a cause of all your error codes. Make sure they do it properly with all the required resets.

It can't hurt to clean the egr really good and see what happens.

I'm sure the intake is in similar condition as well as the valves. You should read up on CBU cleaning and see who offe r s it near you, or you can do it yourself. Walnut blasting is the preferred method for the valves, but some have used chemicals as well. I'd be a bit leary of chemicals, or at least really careful
