Don't go to VIR during July, there's a reason NASA calls that event Heat Wave. 96 plus humidity last time I went down lol.

Spinning is pretty scary. I spun at NJMP Lightning my first day on R-comps. I took turn 3 too aggressively, the rear end came out instantly and I did a nice 360 and ended up on the grass inside turn 4's apex. Fortunately I was the only one on track (literally).

Lol there's never a shortage of wildlife there. Last time at Main a groundhog ran out in front of my car between turn 1 and 2 and ran back the way he came before I [almost] clipped him. I keep trying to come up with a caption for the little guy.

Edit: somebody better come to Summit with me!!!

Was mentally tired just trying to focus on keeping the car on track. All my senses were working overtime just trying to maintain smoothness... it was educational to say the very least. One guy I sorta know crashed his Evo.
haha that's awesome! need to see the vid!

LOL with the bad weather I didn't even bother, lesson learned. I figured since my times would be so slow no point...

In other news, I'm contemplating purchasing HPDE insurance this year for upcoming events. As I carry more speed, I realize I want to up both the safety hardware as well as add some financial protection.

I've done most tracks in the east coast, as far south as VIR and north as Watkins. LRP is just the one track I've never been to but I heard great things about it. Plus NJMP is so popular among the clubs here there's always a weekend event going on there. But finding a Saturday at LRP is pretty tough so I'll take what I can get =)

But you are right, the 1 day vs 2 day event is a huge difference in cost when you factor in gas, food and hotel.
No Canadian tracks? Le circuit Mont Tremblant (LCMT), Calabogie and Mosport?

8-10 hours in my small car is tough. I've looked at places like Calabogie, maybe do a long week of events, start with Lime Rock, then Watkins and then eventually somewhere in Canada but I'm always worried if something happens how I'd get my car back. Can you imagine the tow bill back? LOL.

You first couple of times at a new track should be no problem you wouldn't be pushing it too much. Nothing to worry about! Leave the worry for your 3rd visit and after.

It pains me to do this guys but I'm putting up a feeler for my brand spanking new Apex Arc-8 17x9.5 et 35 concave wheels. It's a square setup wrapped in new Hankook RS-3 255/40-17. It only saw one weekend last year which was at NJMP. There's not a single scratch on them, best of all comes with TPMS for early E9X as well as OEM BMW caps.

I paid around $2k after install & shipping ($1000 for rims, $670 tires, $150 sensors, $150 M&B, $70 caps). Located in NNJ but will let it go for much cheaper... just shoot me a PM if interested.

Yes I was. You know what they say, the only thing better than JRZs is another set of JRZs. These are custom valved and everything ...
