Nope. Buy a cheap DCI like BMS for $99. 2.5x the price does not justify the minimal/non-existent performance difference.

How's that? It's just filters connected to small pipes that get connected to the factory accordion piping. Technically they should sound the same. Plus the sound is so faint, I doubt anyone could tell the difference between DCI's.

If you'd spend $180 more for "sound", you're crazy!

I bought the aFe stage 2 because it includes heat shielding to reduce intake temps, and as a bonus it came with air scoops too. Haven't installed yet because it hasn't arrived, but hoping it's as good as the hype.

The plastic "heat shielding" doesn't really drop temps. C'mon man, you actually believe that? That little plastic piece will heat soak in 2 minutes. Besides the intake air has to go through the hot-ass turbos first. The *MAYBE* couple degree drop you'd get from a "heat-shield" made of plastic will get negated at the turbos and cooled back down by the intercooler before entering the intake manifold anyway.

You guys can try and justify $280 filters and plastic all day, but do a little research and you'll see how much of a waste of money it is. Now, when it comes to volume, the cone filter will flow more air over stock at higher rpm's, but again, the cheaper versions will more than suffice.

+100

OP, just get the DCI's from BMS. They have the largest filters, and have no bends in the piping which just restricts flow. All the air is going through the turbo's anyway, which is going to heat the air alot, so the only heatsoak you are going to get is from the intercooler not being efficient.

Personally, I am not into all that performance mumbo jumbo stuff. I only care about what looks good and what sounds good. The injen looks pretty nice in the engine bay. On top, it has an extremely nice sound to it. I purchased the injen practically when they first came out and do not regret it any single bit.

Dci's look ghetto that's something even civic owners wouldnt use...

I have the afe and love it. I'd rather pay more for quality mainly because I'm driving a quality car.
