Doc, are you running this kit? I've been considering this in lieu of burger meth in case I eventually decide to move to retune+meth. You should post a quick DIY for the install if you get the time. I know I'd appreciate it

TDIwyse is running another kit, it's not Snow, I believe its Devil's Own. If you PM him I am sure he will gladly share the information. FWIW, Snow has a great reputation among the diesel truck crowd in this arena. With a Snow kit one would need to figure out how to tie it into the throttle input, which is what TDIwyse did - although he has an engineering background.

I am not running the Snow Performance MPG MAX, though I once considered it for my old Golf TDI.

It sounds like 335d installation of this kit is pretty involved.

Do it! Half the guys i work with have big expensive diesel trucks and almost every one is running methanol injection & swears by it. My only reason that I'm holding off on the JBD solution is that I'm trying to figure out the feasibility of the meth + retune option. I can install anything with the right directions or oversight but I'm no mechanic , thus I'm typically more of an early adapter than a pioneer (mechanically speaking). THis is the only reason that I'm leaning toward JBD or holding off until a tuner has a more complete meth solution out the or at least some specs to go by in combination with their tune.

This is really tempting me to send in my JBD and get a meth kit for my car while it is in the body shop (for the 3rd time) for 5 days. I am still under CPO warrantee though

hello
numbers look good but those are not comparable lets say Finnish results.
us have normally 20-30% more power than here north.
get engines which have maked well know firm in us and there have 1000hp,taken out of box on here and put engine dyno and have found only 730hp.rest been dropped to atlantic....
i have been also 335d which have maked quite a lot modifications and only which have same all over world is time.so measure 100-200km/h performance box or other 10hz reliable machine and put that result or result and video to here.lets first check at is it going under 13s 100-200km/h(about 380hp/780nm torgue,Finnish ones.those looks like to bo long legs...).
greetings
Pasi

They did some dyno testing using a 50/50 mix and a CM10 nozzle which is fairly safe for the street. Gains were around 20whp over the JBD alone. This particular car was only able to run around 80% on the JBD this time around without tripping a fuel pressure code. Overall I understand the car feels a lot faster on the street and for the minimal effort involved BMS thinks the kit may interest a few hard core 335D guys. The kit price is $479 including the controller and all required parts.

I'm a little confused here. I thought the Burger Mototrsports figures were different. Wasn't it:

JBD 85% = 304rwhp
JBD 100% = 308rwhp

Why is it only 285rwhp @ 80% here? And with the meth kit is less than JBD at 100%?

different dyno maybe, different day definitely, possibly different car, maybe a different correction method. The only comparison you can really make here is that this car made 20 more WHP with meth and JBD at 85% than it did with just JBD at 85%. Based on the other numbers, this car would not have made 308 WHP at 100% (assuming it didnt throw a code that run), more like 290ish WHP and with meth maybe 310-315 WHP.

I know, but 20rwhp different? That seems like a lot to me. I put on the JBD thinking I have close to 300rwhp at 100%. Am I wrong?

remember I hv RENNtech flash we did our first OEM dyno and clocked 230 whp after RENNtech we got 300 whp and then we modded the curves and went up to 306, after we installed the IC we got 312 whp but the weather was hot and humid 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Soemthing is wrong call terry to see if he can upgrade your module or better yet check it out for you

I haven't dynoed with the JBD yet. Terry has it right now and is checking it out for me. I will dyno with it once it comes back as functional and we will see what the numbers are. I just want to get meth and an intercooler also and was trying to get an idea of where I would be at with this setup. Warranty is up in 2,000 miles...

especially with the potential of carbon buildup in our cars, I do not think you can really compare two dynos easily. There are just too many factors that go into how much power a car makes even from day to day. If we were comparing something like and EVO or civic, where there are hundreds of dynos to look at then we could make some assumptions, but when there are only a handful of dynos and they are not even all at the same setting, its just not possible

Here is one that it dynod 278 whp at the default setting (65%?)

heres another, 287 @ 100%

I think that chart is wrong. According to this Renntech chart (maybe yours?) you should be making maybe 440-450 wtq. Certainly over 500 tq at the engine though It does depend a lot on where they start the dyno though, I believe our peak tq is at 1700 RPM so if like the Renntech one below the dyno starts at 2200 you have already missed the peak

I'd like to see some of the specs and parameters on the controller and JBD interface before plunking down that much coin on a $300 box-o'-parts. Traditionally, these type kits from Snow, Coolingmist, what-have-you, have been ridiculously high margin products mainly because they are in a niche market full of people with more money than sense.

What type controller we have here? Progressive? Based on what data points? Any user-adjustable parameters? What is the trigger reading from the JBD? Boost? MAP? Some dynamically derived or calculated voltage value? If so, what/how?

Why no mention of a diesel kit on the website?

I think I'd like to buy it, just not enough information available to tell for sure...
