AA Xede R7 1/4 Mile Results...WOWOWOW!!! I knew it was faster!
First off...car is a 4 door steptronic with ZERO other modifications...just 19s.
Okay...so I ran R3 for a while and was pleased. Car ran 13.3@105.7 best. Not too bad, not outstanding. A friend's car which is virtually identical went 13.6@103.5 stock. I later updated to R6 and was pleased, but nothing that amazing. Car went slower actually...13.3@105.1. Well, a month ago I updated to R7 and was SHOCKED at the SOTP change. It comes on violently down low and pulls hard to 7k. Well, I finally made it to the track. Less than ideal coniditons. Very high humidity, temps in the mid 70s, only about 10 degrees from the dew point. Very first pass was the best. Pulled into the staging lanes at the perfect time and never shut the car off before making the first pass. Here's what she did: 60ft: 2.026 1/8th: 8.424@86.25 1/4: 12.980@107.62 I thought I botched the pass because I tried launching in 2nd using manual mode but my ghetto rig to block the kick down (vacuum cap taped behind the top of the pedal) got crushed from me just smacking the pedal too hard. That forced it to downshift to 1st after having rolled out a few feet in 2nd. It hooked up, but created a delay (or so I thought). With the 60ft, I guess it didn't hurt, and worked! 2nd pass I tried 1st gear from the stop. Spun a little, but still cut a 2.07, but slowed to a 13.148@107.05. Last pass, I went back to 2nd gear launch...cut a 2.01 60ft but only managed 13.043@106.90. I never got my MPH back. I think I was hitting the shifts a tad lower on the first pass, but not that low...like 6700 instead of 6800-6900. You can tell this R7 tune works up high...if you shift early around 6300, it feels much softer in the next gear. For comparison, there was a bone stock 08 6-speed coupe that was running 13.5@103.5...most passes were in the 13.6s I think he mentioned. Anyway, I had to share my new R7 experience. For a bone stock auto sedan, I am impressed. The R7 is a killer update, and will not be coming off anytime soon unless AA comes out with something better.

Damn...I just realized the bug bit me again. So much for stock...
Just ordered up a CP-E Exhaust and K&N drop in. Time for new numbers in January

Very cool! I seems like everyone on here who has grabbed one of their systems can't say enough good about them. I spent weeks looking at other systems and every one of them had negatives that turned me off. 10 minutes after scrolling through the group buy thread on the CP-E, I was sold. I can't wait!! 7600 miles without an exhaust was too long!
