I have the vorsteiner front lip and there CF bootlid spoiler and they all fit almost perfectly....? I know some people have problems with the PUR version of the bootlid but thats it. Plenty of people in Socal have the vorsteiner hood and they all fit to OEM specs. You cannot expect just to bolt on the hood or trunk and have it perfectly. Even the OEM trunk won't just bolt on and sit perfectly even. You have to adjust it just a bit before you tighten everything to make sure the fitment is perfect.

Well of course not everyone is going to have a problem with fitment. I'm sure some out there actually are perfect. But in one review about a Vorsteiner CF hood, it just didnt fit right. Like it was warped. Then if you get a PUR trunk lid, you're pretty much screwed.

I know that you cant just bolt something up. You have to adjust and tweak it here and there. Its just the statement, Vorsteiner products guarantee perfect fitment, that bothers me.

I can agree with you on that. I've had plenty of friends with Vorsteiner parts that needed adjustments here and there to fit. But once tweaked, they do fit pretty much up to OEM standards. I guess this is why they say "perfect fitment".

They also never acknowledged the fact that their PUR spoiler doesn't fit right even they knew many people had problems with it? I know you can ship it back and upgrade to the cf version, but either don't say the product fits perfectly, or acknowledge the problem at least.

DD...history...4-6 revisions, need to arrange shipping from canada, and maybe 3-4 months later...you get your item.

So you need to ask yourself, is cheaper worth a 3-4 month wait??? Personally...I don't like to wait once I know something is available and done.

both are very unique in the way the lip is blended into the car, we all know how well the vorsteiner lip looks, so I think the full trunk will look just as good if not better, and as for the duke trunk, I would have to see it in person to see if it out does the vorsteiner, but I think it is possible that the duke trunk could be a winner!

Saw DD's FRP version in person today. Fitment does look better than the CF version, he's going to finalize the design, add a couple more layers to make it a little heavier, any tweaks should be done in a couple weeks. I gotta say though, the trunk does look better in person! I think if you compare the DD and Vorsteiner side by side, you'll see that the Vorsteiner trunk does look a little boring. The DD trunk actually looks more like the E46 M3 CSL trunk if that's what you like.

vor for elegance, which might only be pleasing yourself, where duke's trunk has it's show-off purpose....

i'd go for Vor.... but rather wait until what OEM BMW will come up with.
