Want to buy a K+DCAN USB coding cable?

I've lurked in the coding thread since nearly page 1-- now coding-related threads have their own sub-forum, so this topic might be worthwhile to nee members getting into coding.

Late last year, I recall members recommending an eBay vendor with a cable shipping from China. At the time, the cable was listed for $119 with a "best offer" price of $85 (??) shipped. I can't seem to find that auction any longer and am hoping someone in the U.S. might have an extra cable to spare so I don't have to wait another two weeks on shipping.

If anyone has an extra cable or can recommend the best source to purchase a new one, please post up.

One Stop Electronics is the company who ran the eBay ad. Here is their web page: http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/...&product_id=16

Start reading from post 277 if you want background info about the cable: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...451145&page=13

Looks like this seller is once again offering cables:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=200593177262

I'll try submitting an offer for $85 and see if it works.

Oh course he has more than one; that's the same cable sold and shipped from China that the rest of this forum has been using for a while. He was accepting offers of $85 earlier in the year, then his auctions disappeared from eBay for a while.

This one is back up and should be the same cable everyone else is using, but his "best offer" on eBay seems to be $90 now.

would these cables work for other cars as well, such as a 04 Honda Accord and 97 Porsche Boxster?

If these are the cables discussed by the German (no longer in Germany) in the thread, then these are the cables that I would like to buy. It seems that he really cares about providing a quality product.

Also, how long does it take to be shipped from China?

I just want to verify that I am buying the right cable (either from
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ht_6949wt_1167

or http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/...&product_id=16
Yes, those are the correct cables. So I guess now you can get the one sold on eBay for $90 vs the other for $109 + shipping - same cable.

Delivery of my eBay cable was approximately 2 weeks...

And I might add - it has worked flawlessly MANY times. Seems anyone with problems coding that have that cable is not related to the cable, but instead differences in trying to run the INPA/NCS software under Win7 or Vista over XP install (all though it will run under those OS, just need to run in XP Emulation mode in some cases), or improper software load, or not using appropriate drivers for the cable, or simply just not following the supplied instructions in 1st post to the letter.

Mine took a little over 2 weeks, so I would guess you should get yours any day now.

For those of you who have this cable (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT) and used it successfully to code your cars, can you answer the following questions:

1) There is a LED in the cable but it does not light up when plugged into the OBD port. Is that normal?
2) Should it light up as soon as it is connected? If not, when?
3) Is the light always on or does it blink/flash?

I am having problems using the cable and I am concerned that there may be something wrong with it.

Also, when launching INPALOAD, I only get one black dot for battery and nothing for ignition. When I disconnect the OBD side of the cable the ignition dot becomes black. Any ideas??

If you are interested in more information I created a separate thread http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=519557 with more details.

Thanks.
