On a diet!

So I thought I would try to lose some weight. Using a bathroom scale I measured the weight of my 162s (have since sold them). Then I measured the weight of my 189s. Then I thought I would measure the weight of my Advan RSs.

162s total weight with tires for four = 208 pounds
189s total weight = 208 pounds
Advan RSs = 172 pounds = 36 pounds of weight lost!

This weight loss comes despite that fact that my front wheel/tire combo went from 8" 225/40s to 8.5" 235/40s and the rear went from 8.5" 255/35s to 9.5" 265/35s. I haven't mounted them yet but will do so within the next week or so. I'm hopeful I can feel the difference. This 36 pounds of unsprung weight loss should in theory help suspension compliance. This same 36 pound loss in rotational weight should help with acceleration, deceleration, and turning (the flywheel effect).

have you put them on yet, let us know how they feel. I just bought a set of breyton race gts-r's for my 1 off a 1addicts member- saved him I think nearly 40lbs, he reported much better feel and a tested .2 sec drop in the 0-60

They'll go on next weekend probably. This week I have my BMW Perf. Suspension going on.

i love advan rs wheels... they're relatively cheap and as light as many forged wheels...
