Well the time has come.....

I got my 09 335i coupe roughly 3 months ago and its time for its first oil change. Would you guys recommend that I bring the car back to the dealership I bought it from, or can the oil change be done at any Jiffy Lube? The only reason I ask is because Jiffy Lube is right around the corner from me and I've been going there for years without any issue. My dealership, Rallye, is about half an hour from me and I've already had issues with them after bringing my car in for service once before. If the car requires certain care during the oil change, I rather bring it to the dealership but if it is straight forward, why can't I just bring it to Jiffy Lube? Any input would be great.

Do it yourself. Invest in some Rhino ramps, & a pan to catch the oil. I can almost guarantee you Jiffy Lube does not have the oil or the washer that goes with your drain plug. You could bring it to Jiffy Lube and give them the filter and oil.

If the car is an 09, isn't the maintenance included for 4 years - 50K miles?

I actually called up my dealership and they said that the oil only has to be changed once a year because it's synthetic. I thought this was weird because I figured no matter what, the oil should always be changed every 3,000 miles.

That is not weird. Modern cars don't need it changed every 3000 miles. Almost all cars built today are either every 7.5K or 10K miles. Jiffy Lubes and the like want you to think it needs to be done at 3K because that is there business. If the car is not telling you to change it, don't change it.
