TPMS problem

Hey guys,

Just got some new wheels and tires put on my car. I bought the TPS brand new and had them install with the wheels but for some reason they aren't syncing. They are the appropriate ones for my model year and one of the sensors has synced but the other three haven't. The tire place i got them install said i need to get the programmed in by BMW. Is this true? can i just get them coded in with a coding cable or does it need to be through BMW? Or do you think some of the new sensors were bad?

Any help is appreciated.

Are these aftermarket sensors or are they genuine BMW sensors?

I bought new sensors with my wheels/tires directly from VMR. Just reset the pressure after install and they synch'd right up. Don't know if they are OEM or aftermarket but no programming was required.

When I bought my wheels a few months back I had the same problem. It turned out that the sensors I was sold with the wheels where no the correct ones. My local shop had to open one of my stock wheels to see which sensors where the correct ones then put in new hones. I'm guessing you got either bad or incorrect sensors.

The most common error is due to purchasing sensors for a different year of vehicle than your own.
