Teams that have a decent chance:
-Anaheim -SJ -Detroit -Montreal -Pit Darkhorses -Ottawa -NJ And everyone else. Sorry Flames/Canucks fans, it's not going to happen.

I'm just holding out hope that the Caps can even get in to the playoffs still.

I think of all the teams in the West - CGY Flames might have the best chance here. I don't want to admit it I hate CGY - but if you think about the factors that makes a stanley cup champion. CGY currently has it. - grit - goaltender - scoring - captain that can score and defend - good overall defense The other team would be Anaheim that is a heavy favorite, or San Jose but Nabakov will be done after the 1st round. There is no way he can endure playing almost every game in the season and still be able to stand playoffs. Potentially 100+ games to win the cup, yeah right dude. East teams don't stand a chance. Either they have a great goalie and can't score or they can score but no defense/goaltending. Don't even talk about the Canucks... We'd be lucky to win the NW division and a round of playoffs. |

The Canucks, depends who shows up, they have the potential though, but Calgary knows they can do it, the Canucks still need to figure it out. |

I just want Edmonton to beat all the other NW teams so they remain idle in terms of the points while Canucks do their job properly when we play them. LOL...such wishful thinking...

Perhaps Calgary is looking at the *current* standings and trying to wrangle their destiny .... keeping the Canucks & Colorado just behind them & Minnesota ahead. Calgary has 3 games against the Canucks ... and control their own destiny.
After last year, I think Calgary would far prefer to play Minnesota 1st round rather than Detroit. |
