Question Turtle Wax products question

I have some Turtle Wax products I used on my old car, namely:
- Zip Wax® Car Wash ( http://www.turtlewax.com/main.taf?p=2,1,4,8 )
- Super Hard Shell Car Wax ( http://www.turtlewax.com/main.taf?p=2,1,4,1 )
- Premium Rubbing Compound ( http://www.turtlewax.com/main.taf?p=2,1,4,23 )

I'm getting ready to pick up some stuff from DI and wondering if it is a good idea to use those Turtle Wax products with my new BMW or should I get rid of them?

The wash and wax are probably fine - it's tough to screw those up. You may get better results with other stuff, but the TW won't do any harm at all and should get the job done just fine. I have no experience with their polish but, of the three, that would be the one I'd get rid of and replace with either some Menzerna or Megs.

Yeah, I agree that you can save some $$ by just using up the old wash and wax before you resupply and buy some real wash and wax or sealant. I wouldn't use the rubbing compound on your paint. I have an old tub of TW rubbing compound and I occasionally mix in 1 or 2 pea sized drops to some finer polish to get nasty tailpipes clean again. Works good for that purpose only in my routine.

That's a pretty average time. Lots of waxes last only 2-3 weeks.

I'm not waxing every 2-3 weeks, I'm just saying that 30 days isn't awful, at least not in my climate.

As the others mentioned, you can use up the car wash and wax first to save on some items. I'd skip the rubbing compound though, I've read horror stories with that product when used improperly. If you need a hand selecting anything, let me know.

Most waxes last between 3 - 8 weeks, most sealants (Zaino is a sealant) last 3 - 6 months. If your going for longer protection, a sealant is the way to go. For maximum depth and gloss, a carnauba wax is tough to beat.

That's because Zaino isn't a wax.

Do you mind to give more details or just URLs?

The reason for my question is that I have another car, which is 5 years old. I used compound on it first time last year and results were pretty good. I applied it manually and it cured many imperfections (scratches and such). I purchased Porter Cable 7424XP Random Orbital Buffer from DI recently and wanted to use compound on that car with white 4" pads.

For the new car I got Menzerna PO106FA Nano Polish (Super Finish).

I think you mean to say "If you're waxing every 2-3 weeks you need a sealant instead of a wax".
