the guy from texas? or florida? i remember that thread. he did it all on jack stands right?

i don't believe he went into much detail for control arms. probably enough for someone with experience, but i need a DIY that "holds my hand"

i can follow instructions, but i'd rather not improvise and end up paying for a tow truck

this, it was a pain in the ass to squeeze in there. I did the install myself and it's worth it if you have the extra cash laying around. There is definitely more feedback from the front end.

I wish one of our beloved vendors would offer a special on this setup; the prices are a bit steep right now.

I think ECS Tuning has the best price. I regret selling and never installing a kit I bought off Tischer.

Let me know if you find a better price.

And only going to get steeper..BMW has caught on that the modding community is using the M3 arms as upgrade parts..just as frame of reference:

The m3 front control arm kit including wishbones, tension rods, and headlight regulating rod was $405..at the time I purchased..now they are $520

No vendors will be able to give much of a break on these as they come from BMW..and the margins are way to low to begin with

HPA is your best bet..he maybe able to work some kinda of package deal for you guys.

Nice that's a good price. ECS did well by me with the wheels...so I will support them.

This might be a good option, I also hate the steering feel on the car....so numb, but it is a fat piggy.

The components for the M are interchangeable between the 1 and 3 series..so there is nothing that will come out

They front and rear m3 control arms, sway bars and rear subframe bushings all fit the e82/e90/e92/e93..most parts will not fit x models

Same part numbers as the M3. No difference.

Ask who did the original R&D work

There are hard core Autocross-er's here. Who want the car to handle very aggressively and quickly. However, let me explain what I am looking to get out of mine: I want the car to be still comfort oriented. I want it to be a long distance cruiser that does not sacrifice ride. So my plans are, FK Konigsports - lowered, slightly lower than ZSP level, OEM 18's with good rubber. Keep the stock non-sport front sway, but put something thicker in the back (may be ZHP one or M3?). Reason here is, I want the car to understeer the least.

Here's where I want it to be a little aggressive: Steering. I want more feel. I want more feedback and to be more accurate. So with above mentioned upgrades, would M3 Control Arm set be a good addition? Would I get what I want?

For those of who had them for a long time, how is it holding up after a long time? Are there any alignment issues?

Thanks in advance.
All those benefits will be found after installing the M3 front control arms.

We first did the R&D back in 2008 and no one had these control arms on a car longer than we have. 40K street, track and competition miles later they came off of the car and was sold used, but in great condition. The same arms are still on a customer's car today.

They will most certainly outlast the oem ones you currently have on the car.

Doing this on stock suspension is ok? I was thinking about moving this up the wish list past coilovers.

Better feel without a doubt. Increased neg camber also improves cornering ability with little to no excess tire wear. Highly recommended and can all be done in your garage. Great mod for roughly $500. And yes, this will give you exactly what you're looking for.
No increase in understeer? apparently some folks reported heavier steering feel (and that's ok) but also slightly more underster (and that's NOT ok).

anyone with M3 controls arms & wishbones can comment?

I don't know how you could get more understeer with more camber in the front....this might be because of other mods also (sways, coilovers and so on)

Understeer has been reduced. Fact. It has been some time since I've done this mod so I could be wrong about the feel. Perhaps it is slightly heavier but as you said, that's not a negative.
