The BMW i3 going look so ugly?

Not sure what the designers back at BMW were thinking designing a car looking as bad as this

This is the more interesting comment in the article though
"BMW Australia sales and marketing chief Tom Noble told Drive last week that the i8 would cost around $300,000 when it goes on sale in Australia."

Thats pretty cheap for the i8!
Doesn't look like the i3 will be cheap either from quote below. I reckon it wouldn't have cost them extra to make a nicer looking car, currently looks like a cross between a Suzuki Swift and a Kia something to me.

Quote:
Robertson, who was actually in Australia recently to meet with local dealers, wouldn't confirm Noble's pricing estimate for the i8 or what the i3 could cost. But clearly, both will be expensive

The shape of the i3 makes alot of sense, I guess they were going for maximum usuable space inside the vehicle. Hatchbacks are mostly more convenient than sedans, less wasted space.
I can see that they were going for a purely transport car, but it still looks gay as fuck

All of us desire more power out of our cars however sydney roads dont allow us to use that sort of power, so i guess it makes sense for them to make something like this.

True, but they surely could have made it look much better esp since they have huge competition in store on the looks front plus not everyone buys going by power or lack of it alone, a smart looking case in point

It looks like a Nissan Cube without all the cool retro styling.

i8 sounds like the same price as an Audi R8?

At least nobody will need to upgrade the wheels on the i3 - they are awesome. You'd want good locknuts.
