With 91-93 octane fuel 75% setting probably makes more power than 100% setting.

+1, and I heard that straight from T when he was scanning my e60 last month...

I believe the initial/pre-lim dyno run's of the jb+ by T showed that as well....

Really? I just turned my jb up to 100% today. Running on 93 octane. I swear it pulls harder now. The butt dyno may be telling lies. Can someone confirm what alpinett said?

+1. Any evidence of hp/tq difference? I'm running 91 as we speak. If this is true, I'm turning it down.

At 93 octane, 100% is making less power then 75%? Somebody please explain that to me.

I got my settings and octane mixed up sorry.

http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2922

At 91 octane 50% setting makes around 5 more RWHP than 75% setting.

At 93 octane 100% setting setting makes 10 more RWHP than 75% setting.

At 75% setting, 93 octane makes 20 more RWHP than 50% setting.

Because of all this, im running about 63% setting at 91 octane.

But I do wan't to run about 87% setting and 96 octane, and post some vids.

If you're running 91 octane then leave the JB+ at 75% (3 oclock on the dial). You're just putting more stress on your motor by running 100% without the proper octane to produce power.

What are the long term and/or short term effects of running the turbos at a higher boost?

Update: the noise I am hearing is actually more of a buzz (almost like the sound from an E46 M3 exhaust). The exhaust lets out a short "buzz" when I get on it hard at around 3k RPM. Is this normal?

BTW, the car PULLS like a monster.... (this is coming from a guy who thought the stock 335i was slow). Just amazing the difference from the default setting to 75%.

Hey guys, I've been running the jb+ @ 75% for a couple of days and I don't really hear any abnormal noises. The turbos got louder, due to higher psi and aFe dci, but no other noises. The car pulls pretty good now, hit 150 mph few times during the adaptation process. This thing is addicting, drive safe.

I had mine at default (50%) for just over a month. Over the weekend I have finally decided to take it up a few notches and cracked the thing all the way up to 100%. At first, I didn't really feel that much difference on the road. However, today I took the car out for a lapping day. OMG, this my 335i is now a monster. It is truly astonishing the fact that it pulls so strong from 80 to 120+. I swear, if there was a longer straight I probably will see top speed in no time.

Again, great job to Terry and the boys for JB+. I stand behind the product and would endorse it to all my friends who owns a E9x.

Cheers!

I can't wait til I get mine, hopefully this week so I can install it next WE

I think I'm gonna start at 75% and wait til I have an upgraded intercooler installed before I crank it up to max.

Since I always drive with 98 oct it should be good for 50 bhp on 75%

I seeee...... makes sense, but just got word from Terry that since my car is pre-29.2, it requires a higher amount of boost compared to the post 29.2 versions.. so should I turn the dial in between 75% and 100%...? Sorry to be picky, but I want to see the 100% potential of my product I invested in.
