BMW Performance gear knob and M Sport gear knob
Prefer my weighted gearknob so I'm selling the other two I have.
Performance gearknob sold! And next is my M Sport gearknob. The gaiter was slightly torn to I tried to remove it and realised that it is bonded on. I've removed the old one so that it will fit with your own gaiter. The knob is in good condition bar the plastic I snapped off but that can't be seen. £35 delivered Last edited by idnan; 02-25-2012 at 12:37 PM.. |

Is the length different on the gear shaft or just the gear? As I got a se and like to change the gear to a lower one. Is that all I needed to do? And Will the m sport gear still work ? Since part of it is broken

The broken bit is a plastic part which is bonded to the gaiter like the yellowish part on this one:
I would remove the plastic pin in the second picture as well as it would get in the way. If you buy it you're more than welcome to return it for a refund if it doesn't fit properly |

Sorry I have more questions,
A) does the length of the shaft vary? I liked the m sport gear coz I thought its Lower than the se one B) will there a existing yellow plastic on my gear to replace? If there is can I remove it (not breaking it?) Thanks |

A) The shafts are the same length but the gearknob is shorter. So on the same car, the m sport knob will sit lower. B) Just looked on Realoem.com and the SE gearknob is separate from the gaiter so you won't have the plastic thing to hold the gearknob to the gaiter. http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...54&hg=25&fg=10 I'll do it for £30 posted and again will offer to refund if you're not satisfied. |

It don't think it is required, none of the other gearknobs I have (3 in total) have it. Only the m-sport one has it. I can take a picture of it fitted without the plastic ring on my car when I get home if you like.

Guys I'm waiting on ChrisNI first if he doesn't take the performance knob then it is open to you two.
Pics of the m-sport knob fitted, as can be seen it fits fine without the plastic clip. Please excuse the flash, crap carbon trim and suede gaitor. |
