key fob
im not sure if i posted this in the right spot but whats the cheapest place to get a replacement key fobother than the dealership. i see them on ebay for like $15-20. but i dont know if you can use a key from a different car and get it programmed

I'm in the same boat. Lost my key on a business trip and now I only have one...
I think you can do this: 1. Get replacement keyfob on ebay 2. Get keyfob reprogrammed by dealer 3. Buy physical key blank on ebay and have it cut by a key service at the mall or wherever |

Key is not that expensive. It is the "work time" it takes the dealer to reprogram it.

Are we talking the physical metal key, or the key fob remote? I think if you get a key fob remote off of eBay it needs to be a true blank, never programmed previously, and then the dealer can program it to your car.
I don't believe they can reprogram previously programmed fobs.
