Need help with battery replacement PDX-Salem area

Hey guys,

I've tried searching around, but haven't quite found an answer. I have a 2011 328i. It will need a new battery soon and I know they need to be registered/coded. I was wondering if anyone here has had any personal experience with Les Schwab. I have called quite a few of them and keep getting mixed answers, some say they can program them, some say they cant, and some have no idea.

Has anyone used a Les Schwab to get their battery replaced and had them code it correctly? Les Schwab in my town quoted me $167 for the battery plus $30 for installation which is much cheaper than the $350 I was quoted at my indy shop.

Can anyone recommend anywhere in the PDX to Salem area to get a decent price at a new battery plus coding?

Thank you!

It really does not take much to replace as a DIY. I just replaced mine at $165.00 for a BMW group battery from the dealer 15% off and $40.00 for registering at Prestige Motors in Salem. I have a 2011 328i coupe, just be careful of the IBS on top of the battery, unplug everything carefully then just reverse to install. If you decide to go aftermarket make sure you get the same kind, ie., AGM, the proper CCA and amperage per hour rating. If you change to a entirely different battery you will need to code, just registering will not allow it to charge properly.

I have just changed mine with 95ah from AutoZone. 3 year warranty. And registered it with the Carly/BMWhat app. Took me 15 min and I'm not a machanic or anything so it's not hard at all. I paid 190 for the battery. I'm in PDX btw. Ask away if you got questions.
