Question How Much Does A Pizza Shop Make?

how much does a typical pizza place make? i know factors like location, sales, etc are all important but what is the estimate of just the avg pizza shop?

if you take a look at the pizza shops you eat at (not the chains like dominos, pizza hut, etc) do you think the owners are making alot of money?

thoughts & opinions? anyone on here own one?

Dont know about mom and pop shops but i know numbers for dominos around the LA area. Usualy if you own a Dominos and its your only store and you're there most of the time, and your store lets say averages 15k a week you'll put about 15k a month into your pocket depending on how much advertisment you do on your own aside from dominos national promotions. Im sure mom and pop shops make less money weekly but dont have all the fees that a franchise does. Theres a Dominos in Europe (forgot the exact country) that hit a record of $110,000+ in one week!! He averages $90-100,000 a week... they get about 1000 orders on a regular friday.

Try making your own pizza, it adds up. Even if you make your own crust.

I know a guy that owns a couple pizza shops. He makes decent money because he charges out the ass. A small is like $15 for just cheese. It's damn good pizza though. Make it quality and people will pay.

Agreed...But depending on the area. Where I live a pizza place that changes $15 for a small wouldn't be in business for long at all.

It all depends where you are. What you make, etc. Pizza? Subs? Full sit down dinners?

Look local. I'm sure the guy who owns Posa Posa makes a shit ton. I knew the family who owns New City Pizza. They live in a nice house, but not a mansion by any means. You can make millions or make shit doing anything.

think about it, in NYC they charge $2 for a cheese slice, at cost it probably costs about 25 cents for the slice to make. Profit margins are high but you need to find a good location.

Dairy shot up in price the last few years. Along with other ingredients. Plenty of shops have taken a shit due to it.

I know a guy who owns 41 dominos pizza stores, combined his stores gross an average of $600,000 a week, he only puts about 10% in his pocket tho. He started as a driver over 30 years ago, used to sleep in his car saving up money for his first store.

LOL...that's the name of the game. When you have a booming business, competitions will rise out of the woods. Example: Frozen yogurt and Pinkberry.

I knew someone that became a partial owner of a mom and pop place out of college.

Did pretty decent at the start. But eventually ended up having to sell his share of the business back. The guy dicked around too much and gave too much product away to acquaintances(place was on a bar street between 3 small colleges). Caught up to him and he was in debt up to his eye balls. Had to sell to basically break even.

Was a killer store too. Since his departure they've expanded his shop and opened 2-3 others in the region.
