N54 Turbo Refub?

Has anyone ever used or had a refurbished turbo in a 335i (N54).

Mine currently has a wastegate rattle and while the replacements are £500 each, a refurb is a cheaper option and comes with a 12 month guarantee (as opposed to 2 years new).

Anyone had any experience using these?

Bentley repair manual says to update the software first; if this does not work then you can adjust the tension screw on the waste gate valve. Waste gate rattle is usually caused from the rear turbo charger on the N54. You can clearly see the tension screw from the passenger side of the motor. Reaching it will require the proper tool. If this does not work, then maybe replace the turbo chargers. Best price I have seen on new OEM chargers is at FCP Euro. Try ECS tuning too.

Brand new turbo chargers will run you $1400.00. You should look into getting new gaskets etc. they sell kits for this for around 200-50
