Cobb with CPO & Maintenance
Anyone Cobb tuned with cpo and extended maintenance warranty? Are bmw techs able to see if dme has been changed and reverted back to stock? Any experience and advice is appreciated!

that depends on who you get at the dealer. a intake and fmic is not going to cause your waterpump for example to go. But they have to prove your mods are what is causing the problem that you are there to get fixed.

I have COBB and DCI, with CPO and Extended Maintenance.
I re-flash back to stock before any dealer visit. I have kept in my DCI before and nothing. Getting FMIC and will leave that in as well. Dealer told me, OCC, DP's, and CP are no, no's. Must put back to stock or they may flag or give you some hassle. My SA is very cool though. So yes, always re-flash your car back to stock, even for routine maintenance. Pay to Play bro...

Compared to the piggys, removing the COBB tune takes no effort -- Can just leave the car on in your driveway & walk away once it starts uninstalling the tune. |

As many have stated, a lot depends on your SA and your attitude toward the SA.
With the Cobb AP, uninstall it before going in for warranty work and you'll be good to go; I've done it many times. As Benzy stated, it's really easy to do relative to the piggies. With that said, I've recently switched to a piggy and found that it takes about the same amount time for me to swap it out as it did for a reflash so that isn't an issue. What can be an issue with the Cobb is that once you uninstall it, all the codes will be wiped and you may or may not be able to reproduce them on the stock map. |
