Kerbed a wheel :'(
Just 20 mins ago, I need to talk about this............lol
Was dropping the woman off, half asleep....pulled up at hers, reversed straight back next to the kerb, its wet and dark and I thought the shiny kerb top was the gap between the car and the pavement reversed back.....cruunnnchh what a mess, isn't that deep but it covers about a third of the wheel, proper gutted.... had to be a rear one too, just off to find out how much a new one is going to skin me........ Please leave sympathy here:

Time for a set of CSL or BBS LM reps. Four for the price of one 313, and improve the look of your car.

One on the bay for £300, second hand but in good cond, just awaiting high res pics to gauge condition, got a mate in bmw on the hunt for one also monday morning... Thanks, well deserved and lesson well learned! Quote:
What are replica wheels like quality wise, as in...do they buckle easier than OEM wheels? quality of finish?

Is it not repairable?
I'd personally stick with the 313's, they're a lovely looking wheel

When I curb my reps, I will simply buy another set of reps for £500. Maybe CSL or M6 next. But I do have my mint OEM 225m's tucked away in the garage for when I sell the car.

I would: 1) Get it repaired and see how it looks 2) If not happy with it, buy a new one 3) Sell the refurbed one and reduce the outlay for the new one. Or, 4) Keep the refurbed one as a spare

What? You are joking. Just look at my BBS reps,100% better looking than OEM! Just put the over priced OEM's away for when you sell the car.

Well I'll see what my mate can turn up at BMW first thing tomo, and I'll likely send an email along with pics to these chaps http://www.diamondwheelstech.co.uk/ and see what they reckon to it.
If I get stuck in turning one up at a reasonable price i'll prob get it refurbed and see how it looks and then decide what im going to do based on that! thanks for the input!

I've never seen a set of BBS Replicas up close - sure at a distance they look great but how faithful are they to the finish and quality of the original BBS wheel? Have you compared them side by side to a genuine BBS LM?
It seems like the wheel equivilent of buying a fake Rolex. Obviously they look better than the 225's, but thats because the 225's are horrible. |

I thought that about reps but just bought a set myself and they're brilliant, you're just paying for the badge on OEM. Talk to BMautosport and he might even part ex your 313 if your buying a new set, the trouble is there's too many to choose!
