Yet Another Install (H&R springs + Sway bars review) - Install went horribly wrong
+ CEA 3 review too
So i finally got my car dropped on H&R sport on ZSP, and i also got UUC adjustable sway bars (currently on sale for $425). I have posted pictures of the car and the install before but i meant for this thread to give a review on the springs + the sways. First the H&R springs: the drop was about 1.5 inch, IMO it is a perfect drop. see below: The ride quality is very similar to stock ride quality, i did not get any squeaks or any weird noises. it is all perfect so far. Given that my Toyo tires suck the car was squealing like a pig, as it was when it was 100% stock. Now, when i got the rear sway bar only the car felt really solid, like it felt like it's one piece again. But then the rear would get thrown out when i corner it hard. The squealing increased by 1.5-2 times as before. It was still a nice ride, felt stiff, but not rough at all. Then we got the front sway bar installed after a day or 2. I dont know how to describe it, but if you are to see my face right now i probably look like --> oooooooooh yah!!! my car is DIFFERENT! now the car feels so much in control, it's not even funny. Tire squeal decreased significantly and now the car sounds like a normal car with normal good tires. The car only go stiffer and much much more in control when you corner it. It seriously feels flat when you take hard turns. I took a few hard right and left turns, and i decided to take it on one of the freeway turns. I did a 70 mph on a 30 mph turn, and did a 120 on a 55 mph turn. it was a joke, felt like nothing. Oh, forgot to mention the ride feels a bit more tougher now. It's definitely not as tough as my stock G35 tho. we believe to have the front sway bar set to oversteer right now, which feels great. I wanted that to make up for the stupid tires. NOW, the fun part!!!! CHARLIE!!!! altho it seemed like a really hard job, and i think it is, he did it pretty quickly. i took me 3 months to convince him to do it, but once he started it was finished quick good job man! the car is awesome dude... cant wait for DP's now now that i typed all that i really dont know if that was any helpful, but since i already typed it im just gonna post it anyway hehe Last edited by !Xoible; 11-14-2007 at 11:23 AM.. Reason: Edit to state the ride is tougher after everything is on |

Nice review bro, I can't wait to drive your car and add to it. I'll focus on the comfort aspect.

Nabil, becareful though bro becuase sometimes when a car gets stiffer and stiffer the car's breaking point gets less and less predictable so you'll just loose control without really feeling it come first, make sense? Im sure you already know this but im just giving you a heads up. But sounds great man!! Damn i'll eventually get some sways but i need to get the cash flow going first : (

Sounds like you got it dialed in really nice!
BTW your car looks great with the wheels and the painted reflector and the drop For anyone looking for the UUC sway bars for their 335 we've got them available here. |

I did the same trouble on a 350z. I stiffened up the shock settings which gave the car a nice tight feel on the road, but when I hit harder bumps in the turns the car broke free from the road surface and it was anyones guess how you'd land and need to recover.

Read up on how swaybars affect handling. Its not the front sway setup to oversteer, its the rear. You need tougher shocks with stronger rebound rates to be able to extend the spring back to an uncompressed state after turns. It is one of the reasons why your car feels stiff when pushed. This can be a bad thing if you hit bumps along a curve as the wheel leaves the ground and the shock doesn't rebound the wheel to contact the ground again so you can lose grip and feel jittery.
