depends. Sometimes I've heard them give decent offers. For me with my super high mileage car they gave a crap offer. of 60% under the Blue book trade in value.

my brother in law had a Lexus LS430 with moderate damage to the rear bumper that needed to be replaced and Carmax gave him blue book value of a car in excellent condition even with the damage. So he kept the insurance money and sold to Carmax.

With my car they claimed they won't sell it b/c of high mileage (163k) and instead they just offered what they would try and buy at an auction.

What kind of aftermarket parts. Honestly if it's just a few aftermarket parts or even aftermarket wheels/rims they won't care. now if you have suspension changes that are noticeable they will deduct for that.
70k miles means they'll still turn around and sell it so you may get an ok value from them. Although more than 2yrs ago I took my wife's 2008 IS250 (with 60k miles) to Carmax and they offered 12,500. Other dealerships were giving between 15 and 17k for trade in, and I ended up selling it myself for 19k.

They offered slightly above the lowest "excellent condition" value on KBB. I took a little hit on it, but didn't want to deal with people on CL "interested" in an 11 year old BMW coupe, or people who didn't know how to drive a stickshift.
