If memory serves me right, Costco usually put an extra 20% off Michelin tyres three times a year (think its Feb, June and November) This is when you buy all 4.
They are usually the cheapest for Michelin anyway, something to do with them dealing directly with them, but with the extra 20% they would be quite close to the price of the mid range tyres. Sod's law this will probably be the first year they don't do the extra 20%

Be aware that you'll also need to declare these to your insurance company (meaning possible increase to your insurance premium). This is because you would have altered the manufacterers specification of the vehicle and therefore, this would be classed as a modification.

I told my insurance company and they did note against the policy however as long as they are the same rating etc then there should be no issues.

Yep exactly, they are supposed to note them down. Whether they charge an additional premium or not thats up to insurer. Better to cover yourself.

One thing to be aware of is that you may be hit at trade in time because you don't have runflats. Some dealers will inspect closely and adjust unfairly downwards for any excuse. Others won't even notice.
Worth perhaps keeping a pair of half decent runflats to refit at trade in time. |
