Cobb AP firmware update lost my stock ECU data
Anyone have stock ECU back up for a 135i IJE0S they can send me?
I thought the AP was asking me if I wanted to update or not....not back up before updating. Since I hadn't saved my stock ECU data off it, I clicked no. Low and behold it started updating and I lost everything. Pretty irked right now. Car is no longer under warranty and I'm not paying the dealer mega bucks to flash it to stock again. |

the stock ECU is saved in the AP background. Uninstall it and you will get it back.

Contact Cobb support if you have any questions but im sure the ECU data is still there just hidden. I got freaked out when i could no longer see the ecu data but it still uninstalled/installed just fine for me.

I believe if you uninstall at this point, it reverts back to Cobb's OEM equivalent file, and not your stock ECU data.
I'm afraid to uninstall...the last time I did using cobbs OEM file I lost my cruise control, and I'm no longer under warranty. |

Cobb has mentioned before that they have ways of pulling the stock ecu file out of the AP. You really need to contact their tech support to get clear answers.

Your stock ROM file is saved in the background on the AP, and is used for the uninstall process. Any ROM files you see in AP Manager are just extra copies. If for any reason it was lost, an actual BMW ROM is flashed back to your car during uninstall. You can also go to Options in AP Manager, click on the log files button, and see a folder called backup that will have your stock ROM file.

I do have the back up folder. I wasn't sure if that was an actual back up of my OEM rom, or if it was created on installation and was the Cobb BMW rom. So that folder contains the actual BMW rom from my ECU, to revert 100% back to stock? |
