First let me say that I’ve had the phone since April 25th (the first day you could get it through AT&T). I have had almost a full month to test it out. I came from arguably the crappiest phone Samsung has ever made (the Infuse). However, I’ve had plenty of opportunities to test out the S3, Note II, and other similar phones.
Processor Speed- The phone is extremely fast. I have no trouble running anything and I have yet to have it bog down even with 8-10 apps running. The snapdragon processor is awesome.

Internet Speed- The 4g LTE is awesome. I just did a speed test just now and download speed was 37.81 mbps and upload speed was 14.27mbps. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Durability- I had a scare about 2 weeks ago when I shut my phone in my car door. Don’t ask me how I did it, but I would dare to say that if it were an iphone, it would have shattered the screen. The gorilla glass is awesome and is still very user friendly

Battery life- I have actually been extremely impressed with the battery life. My Samsung Infuse would easily go through 2 batteries a day (I had 3 and rotated them). I am constantly on my phone and the S4 haven’t been able to drain the battery more than 50% in one day. I would imagine the average user could easily get 3-4 days out of a single charge.

Extras
The smart scroll is cool, and works well, but I like scrolling the old fashioned way.
Bluetooth syncs up just fine with my 07 e92. I’ve had zero issues so far.
GPS has been spot on. I haven’t had any issues with finding my location at all.

Conclusion- I’ve been completely satisfied with the phone so far. I haven’t had any issues at all with the phone and software itself. The only issue I’ve encountered is with the gaming app “Dice with Buddies.” It’s only a small issue with crashing on occasion, but I would blame the app itself and not the phone.

I've been an iPhone user since they first hit the market. I decided during my most recent upgrade (this month) to give the Galaxy a shot. I had the phone for a few days and overall it's a great phone.

The deal breaker for me was that it wouldn't connect to my car's USB audio and I couldn't find a solution. I went back to the iPhone with the 5 and haven't looked back.

I know Iphone 5s will have few modest improvements, but if Iphone 6(whenever it comes out) doesnt have a substantially larger screen, I might switch to samsung.

And I have up to 20 apple products in my household.

I love how apple integrates everything seamlessly, but the screen is ridiculously small...I like how iphone 5 went longer but they went skinnier too!

I've been an Iphone user for the past 4 years . I've had the s4 for a month now but the only thing i dont like about it is that it's too big for my hands. maybe because i've been using the iphone for so long and the bottom I also dont like the buttons on the bottom. I keep hitting the back button b accident all the time. batter life is not that great.

Apple has always had great battery life so I won't take anything away from them. However, the Samsung has a much much better processor and a much larger screen so naturally battery life isn't going to be as good as the 5. When you take those two factors into account, the battery life is extremely good on the S4.

This is another one of the few reasons to go with an Apple phone. They get the most out of their hardware and their software generally has been very seemless as you mentioned. However, Google continue to improve with the Android OS' and Apple did have a few software issues when the iPhone 5 first came out.

I haven't figured out a way to setup a direct USB connection to the phone. However, I wouldn't think it would be that hard seeing as how Android based phones have a media storage mode which basically turns it into a harddrive.

If you want a product that is user friendly for anyone between the ages of 8 and 80 then go with the iPhone. It's definitely still the easiest phone to use.

However, if you want to use your phone for more than making calls and playing Angry Birds, Android based phones surpassed Apple phones back around the iPhone 4 era (in my opinion).

Removeable batteries, ability to connect the phone to more than 1 computer, removeable/upgradeable storage, the screen won't crack if you look at it the wrong way, better hardware specs.....the list goes on.

I was a big Apple fanboy once upon a time. I had every iPhone from the 1st gen all the way to the 4 and made the switch to Android after that. I haven't had one regret (aside from picking the Infuse at the time).

The A6 isn't a bad processor. I haven't seen benchmarks for the S4's CPU, but the A6 would keep up with the S3's Quad Core CPU( and the GPU beat the S3's GPU). And given iOS's streamlining, the iPhone doesn't need as much HP as Android phones do.

It also sucks that the US market doesn't get the Exynos 5 CPU.

EDIT: Here we go. Impressive. And it's the Snapdragon CPU as well. So it easily beats the A6.

Glad to hear you've been happy with it thus far. Mine is sitting on my door step as we speak, so I won't be able to play with it until I get home tonight.

As for the s4, my friend pre-ordered it to my house because he did not have a secure address at the time, I got it on April 25th also, and I had the green light from him to play with it. To the person who said the average user could get 3-4 days out of the battery, you are a joke. It is good, but nowhere near what you are saying. I went from 100->30 in about 5 hours of use while I was exploring it. Once acclimated, I think I can make it last all day, but there is no chance it will last 4 days even with the lightest of use (might as well not have a phone at that point).

It's available now at Verizon...at least with pre-order. In store is on Thursday the 23rd.

I didn't have the S3, so I can't comment there.

I had zero intentions on getting the GS4, since I was so happy with my GS3...but, a 2 foot drop to concrete and a botched screen replacement later and here I am.

I'm amazed all over again...hoping to root this thing today or tomorrow.

Nice word choice buddy. Especially considering that you took my post entirely out of context. I never once said that I personally could get 3-4 days out of a charge, but for someone who only uses their phone to answer calls, 3-4 days certainly isn't out of the question.

Yeah, I think the phone is great after using it for almost a week now. I have about 50% battery left every night when I plug it in (12-14 hours), using it for email, games, sporadic web surfing. My only complaint is the max ringtone level...doesn't seem loud enough.

Overall a great phone though.

I just picked one up to replace my Galaxy Nexus (on Verizon). I loved the Nexus, but I guess I just wanted to get the latest and greatest. It has a great list of features, and I had high expectations when buying it. I don't think I've gotten a chance to explore through all of them yet.

Love the camera and it's shooting modes/effects. Battery life is pretty good. One thing that made me get this over the HTC One was the fact that I could put a larger memory card and extended battery if need be, but I don't thing I'll be needing to (yet). I don't use the air swipe or air view features (kinda gimmicky IMO), but one thing I found that's cool is the voice commands. If my alarm goes off, you can say STOP or SNOOZE. Could be dangerous, lol.

A few things that bug me though:
-There is only 1 alarm available to set at a time (my Nexus had 3). I'm sure there's an app out there that can remedy this, though.
-Being a lefty and trying to hit the back button, I find when reaching my thumb over to hit the back button, I can inadvertently touch the screen with my palm.
-There is no auto-correct when texting! WTF?! Seriously, this one bugs me, and I should have caught it when testing it. Does anyone know any apps that can help with this?

You mad?

You said the average user. The average smart phone user these days does a lot more than just answer calls, especially someone getting a brand new S4...

I'm actually looking to ditch my iPhone 5 and switch to something new. The HTC One looks good, but the S4 does look nice as well.

3-4 days is very realistic when just doing a few calls and some texts. On my Nexus 4 i got down to 4% after 3 days and 4hrs of not using my phone much.

The average user will probably get 18-22hrs on the S4 and a power user will get 10-12hrs max.
