GIAC Stage 2 Log with stock FMIC and drop-in filter - knock evidence ?

Hi,

Today I did some logging with my new GIAC S2 flash. I have the stock intercooler (I will install the new one tomorrow) and a drop-in Helene filter, plus catless downpipes and stock seconday cats. 91 octane gas. Ambient temperature was 3C (37F).

How does the timing look to you ? I am not sure about the timing drop I noticed on the log, could it be knock evidence ? (needless to say, no error code is registered on the ECU, checked with the BT tool). Also, is an IAT of 55C (131 degrees Fahrenheit) too high ? As you see from the graph, this timing pull also occurred at IAT of 40C (104 Fahrenheit).

I have attached the log. I have also attached a stock log (before GIAC S2) (the second picture).

Do logs when the Aftermarket IC is on. Stage 2 is tuned for that. Also you should run the best available gas like 93 or 94.
Seems the ecu is pulling some timings , no concerns about it just relog when the ic is on.

You should really be running a full exhaust, dps, intake and fmic per GIAC Stage 2 requirements. Who knows what will happen with that setup.

Looks pretty much like we'd expect on 91 octane. GIAC isn't immune to a few timing drop outs too.

I think mr.5 ran 11.8@118 at sac raceway (which is more like 115.5 with a prope working timing system).

Update: here is a recent graph after I finally filled the tank with 94 octane gas. I would say everything looks good

Looks so much better. Wow the addition of better gas and fmic got rid of those knock events! Guess it's 94 for you from now on, unless you get A meth setup

Yes, I will never run 91 again. I have no choice, it seems However the 91 gas I used was from a crappy gas station in a distant town, maybe it was not the best quality. However, the 93+ should bring some peace of mind.

Just FYI:

A similar thing happened to me when I switched from my stage 2 race flash (beta version) to the stage 2 race flash (final version) a few weeks ago. I got massive timing pulls when doing WOT at around 4.200 rpm, car felt like it was having a hickup.

After sending some logs to GIAC they informed me that the final version of the stage 2 race flash is more aggressive than the beta version and can only be run with race fuel or meth. I've now tested it with meth and there's no problem - just traction problems due to current weather conditions...

^ That makes sense since it is a "RACE" flash.
