335d Fuel Consumption?

Hi guys,

Driving a 56 plate 335d se coupe and was just wondering what sort of mpg other 335d owners are getting a on motorway runs.

Keeping it between 85 to 95 mph I get around 36 mpg. Is this consistent with what you are getting or a bit low?
Car is mapped, so I imagine that is hurting the consumption, and I heard the newer cars have an upgraded gearbox that goes better returns.

Not a big issue, small price t pay for all that torque, but was just wondering...

Fuel consumption sounds about right, the gearbox rumour isn't.

I'm very similar to yourself but probably a little better averaging between 37 - 38 mpg.

On a longish (100 miles plus) motorway journey sticking to 70 I get 40 - 42.

'Keeping up with traffic' it drops to 36 - 38.

Mine is mapped also, but I don't think that makes any difference either way.

I drove from Glasgow to York a couple of weeks ago, Mix of M/way and fast A road. Taking it easy (70ish whre possible, 55 - 65 on A roads), I got to an amazing 47mpg on the way down. Got caught up in the A1 road closures and stuck in a tailback for an hour or so on the way back, but still returned 43.4 over the total 470 mile trip. Ok, it was partly granny mode - but Pretty Damned Good.

On day to day driving, mostly to work and back, I get about 36 / 38,

Day to day driving, mostly A-roads at sensible speeds (+ 0-10%), occasional hoofing it to overtake, occasional hoofing it for fun. Town driving probably 20% or so. Occasional rush hour driving. Calculated empty to brim on the tank with actual litres to fill. Superchips Bluefin.

37.6 mpg over 3500 miles.

A bit better than my Range Rover, lol:

Almost as above, mine's 2006 standard and returns 35mpg. Occasional hoofing around, A/B roads and motorway miles :-)

My best was on over a 60 mile stretch of the A75 up in Scotland and I returned 49mpg.

On my average trip up North I get around 38-40mpg with mixed driving from 75-85.

My car is standard.

If it is the fuel computer you are reading you can adjust it to say any thing you like. Weird how when you get it to read 50mpg it makes you feel good even though you know it is a lie.
