Middle of what road?

But on a more important subject, off brand 87 octane may be had in my area (suburban DC) for $2.39 and 93 for $2.83 - all E10.

I do find it interesting that the differential between the two has gone from under 10% to 15~20% over the past year or so.

Without stepping into the political muck, oil prices were already jumping during the Bush era. Everyone loves to blame politicians for wild shifts in oil prices, but the fact is, they have very little to do with the semi-volatile supply and demand game that is primarily moved by OPEC (which you seem to agree with, but still want to make it about Obama for some reason).

For the purposes of this conversation, hybrids per se are inconsequential and I have no idea why you brought them up. CAFE standards and market driven concerns are the main reason for efficiency gains.

You make a lot of assumptions about people in a nasty, derogatory way for someone who should know better (20 years experience as a financial professional has done little for your manners and ability to read people, it seems).
I can only assume it bothered you that you were factually and historically wrong in your initial assessment -which I politely pointed out to you- so you felt the need to make a strange personal attack based on where I currently live.
+1 since post 1.

$1.88 here for cheap stuff. 93 is about $0.40 more.

The day 911 happened it was $1.43 aND then went up to a Lil over $2.00. Stations got threatened with gouging and prices settled around $1.75. I know in 2005 I was paying $2.24.

Sure feels good to head outta town again and now worry that it gonna be $65 to fill back up lol.

Yea I filled up for $36 the other day. I don't think it's ever been this cheap since I have been driving (2006). I used to feel like gas prices were pretty good if I could fill up with $50. $36 just seems crazy low. now if tire prices would just come down....

It's temporary. Until we get a Republican, they will be back up where Obama put them before.

You guys think these prices will always remain this low? It's definitely going to sky rocket. It's just a matter of time.

That's why you should invest in oil right now then bank later
