hey guys! the pics on my car are just with the angels on! thats just how bright the inner circle comes out its hard to get a very clear picture of just the inner ring!

That is just angel eyes pal. I'll take a picture tonight with a led in one side and a standard halogen so you can see the difference. That was on the daytime running light setting which is rings only

I think I must have the 4x2.5w LED's fitted to mine, They are fine except the outer ring is pretty dull compared to the inner.....do the new 4x5w LED's fix this?

Car mod shop pal. A brilliant pair of guys. I bought a few things off these guys over the years and I had an ol bulb on a e90 go faulty. And once they receive the old one back they send the new one no questions asked. Don't pay attention to picture 4 and 5 there the old ones.

Hey pal no bulbs on the market will correct this problem its the design of the headlights thats to blame for that. The lci headlights are of a different design. I had the 2 x 5 before these and were nowhere near as good as these

There's twice the power difference on each corner 4x 2.5 =10w. 4x 5 = 20w. We shall both post up a comparison pic with a standard halogen in one side and led in another and let you guys be the judge. I shall get on this tomorrow when the tropical rain has stopped. I'm not selling these bulbs myself just I've had the cree 10's and now the 20's and there's a massive difference unfortunately I found out the hard way and had to spend twice the cash.

Hi Andy,

Your CREE 10W bulbs, did they consist of 4 LEDs or 2 LEDs?

I have both CREE 10W and CREE 20W (4 LED Version) And the difference is negligible to warrant paying more for the 20W.

I will put up comparison pictures tomorrow morning and evening.

10w first one, 20w second one..

It seems to me the 20w is just hazy! It's bright alright but it's not as 'crisp' as the 10w one. I'm sure the 20w one gives off better illumination due to higher w ratings but the 10w looks good enough it seems and it gives off a more sharper shape to the ring, which is what gets attention IMO when a BMW approaches ur tail lol.

Daytime shots would be great 1SH.

The real test for these bulbs, is daytime situations, where I believe the OEM H8 bulbs are better noticed, due to the yellowish nature of them.
Perhaps the 20 Watt ones will look better in daylight?

OEM yellow ones are much better noticed due to it's warmer look.... that is the test. Before I had a BMW I used to think what idiots driving with their lights on during broad daylight... now I own one, I have the option of switching off the DRL but something always stops me from doing it lol. Is it attention seeking to have DRLs on during daytime?

The 20w ones will certainly be more brighter but its on the verge of blinding, no?!

Personally, I love when I see a BMW with crisp angel eyes, not stupidly bright ones. One way to over come is to use these aftermarket ones during Winter Months and stick back the OEM yellow ones in Summer months lol...

I wish, nothing that is effective and cost effective.

The guys at product design feel the 360 degree of a 4LED is more effective than 2 or even 3.

The real test is whether they last any length of time. I spend nearly £90 on some 10W LEDs earlier this year (identical to those in the pic) and both failed within 6months one after the other. The seller was excellent and initially replaced the first but gave me my money back after the second failed as the manufacturer agreed there was a problem - dont know what though.
I would be very interested in these lights after they have proved to be able to run as DRLs for a year or more. Meanwhile Ive put my original £10 yellow H8 bulbs back in, which are still good after 3 years.

Ah I see, well that's the only issue I have with mine Wonder why norml halogen bulbs are fine but the LED ones arent, to me it suggests the light just isn't shining in the right place!?

Can LCI light units not be bought themselves at a breakers yard or so (albeit pricey)? Are they different in shape to Pre LCI? Will LCI light units fit in Pre Lci cutouts?

I had a front end bump in my old car and whilst in bodyshop I asked if I could get the new style lights fitted. He said they would fit but they require a module that goes under each light which is very expensive. He said cost for parts would be around 1.5-2k. He would have done it if it wasn't for the modules. The pre lci and lci lights were both around 500 each from bmw.
