Wow I've been so busy I sort of forgot about this. Never would have thought my picture would win, but then again that shot always generates a lot of conversation. I shot it with an old 4x5 field camera and almost threw the transparency away several years ago,.

What are the guidelines if any for choosing a subject?

I'd say go back and look at all the previous contests to get a feel for what we've been doing... however its really up to you. If you have a love for sports, make a sports related theme. or you can do something like a more general topic such as water, winter, action shots or landscapes. you can do something artistic like "reflections", "architecture" or "alternative self portraits". Or you can even pick a technique such as HDR, backlighting or painting with light. (google some of those if you aren't familiar with them)

PM me if you need some more suggestions (or anyone else whos a regular around the photo parts).

Just don't forget to post up the rules as seen in the 1st post of all the other contest threads.
