Letter from BMW-NA about HPFP !!

Just got a letter from BMW NA concerning the problems with the HPFP. It appears that they are now stating that they have extended my "emissions" warranty to 10 years to cover any problems that may come up becuase of the defect in the HPFP.
Has anyone else received this letter??

I got my letter today. 10yrs or 100,000 miles WOW. BMW must know that they have a issue with the fuel pump.
I am a diesel Mechanic and back in 94 chevy extended there warranty for their diesel fuel pumps for 10 years 100,000 miles. The fuel pump was placed in the valley of the engine whiich caused a condition called "heat Soak"

You would think that BMW engineers would come up with a good solution and not just extend their warrany.

I read about a lot people have issues with there fuel pumps. I hope I never have a problems with mine.

extending the warranty is good news, however I would rather them fix the problem. I am afraid to take my car out of town (like on a vacation) because it has a ticking timebomb in it.

I have NEVER owned a car before (even my 1st car that was $1200 with 130k miles) that I was afraid to drive lol... I guess I spent too much on this one to expect reliability

Did you have to have it replaced yet?...if not I dont see how your afraid to drive the car long distances. I have 39k on my car and havent had an issue.Im sure there is a huge number of 335's without any issues. you make it sound like the car is a piece of crap. Being afraid to drive one of the best cars on earth is rediculous.
