MPG $$$
Man i don't want to sound cheap but my e92 just drinks gas. I was Driving it hard when i first got it and was getting 16mpg and now im taking a little easier i'm getting 18. How the Hell do i get the manufacturer specification of 25 mpg. No Matter how i drive the car i cant get that mileage i even tried driving like a straight Grandma for a couple of days and no difference.

I go by mileage per gas tank, I used to go 400 miles a tank now I'm getting 420 miles a tank. My invoice from the dealer said they did a MOC fuel injection service for like $180 I think, worth it IMO. Gives me another day of gas.

16 is low, 18 is normal for (agressive) city driving, 22 is normal for city road types driving in a grndma style, or agressive mixed road types. The rated 28 comes only at a steady 60 on the interstate with no wind (actually you can close 33 in some occasions).
If the injector thing doesn't cut it (you may also try to run a bottle of techtron, it works well), have your MAF and O2 sensor checked. |

Oh, okay! So that's the Fuel Injector Flush service then. I didn't recognize the wording you used that's why I think I had that done about 2+ years ago?... I need to get all my service history asap lol

As my MT, RWD E91 328i is EPA rated at 28 highway and normally gets around 30 mpg cruising at 70~75 mph, you should try driving your car under those conditions. Zero your OBC mpg readout and take a 50~100 mile drive with the cruise control set around 70 mph on level ground with no headwind. If you don't get at least 25 mpg, then your car has an issue. Tom |

I routinely do 550-600 miles a week between Atlanta to Charlotte (and back). Ambient temps of around 90 degrees this summer. My average is around 28-29mpgs with 50 miles of true city driving mixed into the above figures. Best I've seen with my car was 34.3mpg for 500 miles.
I need to clean my air filters, change my oil, change my coolant and see how it improves. Also considering down-pipes and AFE scoops to see if it makes any difference. I get reimbursed for my mileage through work so anything I can do to save on gas is a plus... |

After about 2500 miles my 335i xdrive has an average of 24.1 according to the tracker.(fresh oil and about 20k miles on the car)
That is with 93 octane and jb4 and DCI(for the last 1k or so). About 25% of the miles are city. However I only romp on the car getting onto the freeway and sometimes when I go for a nice country drive. Other than that it is cruise control and granny driving. |
